“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”
― Coco Chanel
Ever since I have discovered my romance with fashion..it all started with long dress.. its flowy… feminine and classy!
Speaks so much of elegance and simplicity!
Somedays I do wonder what if I would have born in a different era or in different culture where wearing a gown would be an everyday thing…
Cut back to my reality of spending days from 9 to 6 in my corporate wear – a blazer, shirt and trousers or A-line dress or a chic skirt (which BTW is also what I thoroughly enjoy) and it looks very structured and gives an impression of being in control! On point!
But in my personal life (off the office work hours) I really wish to dress up in long beautiful dress …. And yet there is one more hurdle of figuring out the right occasion…So, I ended up having an idea of – how about creating a one?
Well, I have this perpetual need or you might call it a fetish to wear them on my birthdays …I choose a special day for them…
Every birthday – I make a point to wear long dress…. it is like making yourself feel at your best on your B-day! I think we all can take a little extra effort to make ourselves feel good.. and not wait for anyone ..our closed people to do something… (although I am sure they will..they always do) point here is to take your happiness in your own hands… and when you are happy—you are naturally spreading the same… right from your mindset to your smile …everything will speak volume…
It is an extension of one’s personality ….There is a saying right- if you want something to happen, just make it happen. Choose a date, and just wear it…so here you go… what’s more special day you can have…
It’s a celebration …celebration of yourself… your experiences …your ups and your downs…and all that what defined life for you ..what you have lived until then!!
