Georgia seems our go to destination every time we have couple of leaves on our hand given its just 3 hours direct flight from Dubai. We have been here couple of times , but first time for us was 2017 Dec.
I thought of documenting our travel memories through pictures. Tucked away in the heart of the Caucasus region, Georgia is a captivating blend of ancient traditions, breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality.
We started with the capital Tbilisi, and then moved to the Caucasus mountains- it was truly splendid. The Svaneti and Kazbegi areas, right along the border with Russia, provides ample of opportunities to enjoy Georgia’s epic nature.
Country is filled with ancient churches and monasteries, traditional Italian-style courtyards, modernist relics from Soviet times, and a number of daring contemporary showpieces.
Many of monasteries you can find in unusual or highly scenic locations. Some sit on top of hills or mountains overlooking nearby towns.
We explored its many corners and got delighted in the odd mix of architectural styles and welcoming atmosphere.
Experiencing the renowned Georgian hospitality firsthand as we connected with locals over a traditional supra (feast) and toast with glasses of homemade wine was beautiful. The warmth and generosity of the Georgian people left a lasting impression.
For us, every time we think of having a quick short break , Georgia is what we pick.
